Redington has secured a new partnership with Adobe that will see the technology distributor expand Adobe’s software offerings across African markets.
The agreement gives Redington responsibility for distributing Adobe Creative Cloud and Document Cloud solutions through its regional network, as both companies look to tap into rising demand for digital tools across the continent.
The move comes at a time when African businesses, creators, schools, and public institutions are increasing investments in content creation, digital collaboration, and cloud-based workflows.
A Wider Push Into Africa’s Digital Economy
Adobe has been growing its presence in Africa in recent years, particularly as demand for creative software and digital document tools continues to rise among startups, media companies, enterprises, and independent creators.
With this partnership, Redington will not only handle software distribution but also provide licensing support, technical assistance, partner enablement, and training programmes for customers across multiple African markets. The company said the collaboration is designed to make Adobe’s products more accessible to organisations looking to modernise operations and creative workflows.
Local Support Becomes a Key Focus
For Redington, the partnership also reflects a broader effort to deepen its footprint across Africa’s enterprise technology market.
Jim Mathew, President for Africa at Redington, said the company plans to focus heavily on local support systems and partner readiness across the continent.
“Africa’s growth story is deeply local, shaped by the realities of each market and the ambitions of its businesses,” Mathew said.
He added that the partnership would allow Redington to support customers with training, onboarding, and regional expertise rather than simply acting as a software distributor.
That local-first approach could become increasingly important as more organisations across Africa move toward cloud-based operations and digital content production.
Demand for Creative and AI Tools Continues to Rise
The partnership also arrives as Adobe continues to expand AI features across its product ecosystem. Tools such as Adobe Firefly and AI-powered editing features inside Creative Cloud have become central to the company’s recent strategy, especially as businesses look for faster ways to create marketing content, manage documents, and improve collaboration.
Industry observers say Africa’s growing creator economy and rising internet penetration make the region an important long-term market for global software companies.
As competition for Africa’s digital economy continues to intensify, partnerships between global software companies and regional distributors are becoming increasingly important in shaping how technology products reach businesses and creators across the continent.
