Techsoma Africa reports on the companies, people, policies, products, and infrastructure shaping Africa’s technology economy. These standards explain how we approach accuracy, independence, transparency, and accountability.
Accuracy and verification
Writers should verify names, dates, figures, quotations, and material claims before publication. Whenever possible, reporting should rely on primary documents, direct interviews, official records, company statements, regulatory filings, and clearly identified expert sources. Unverified claims must not be presented as established fact.
Attribution and sourcing
Information originating elsewhere should be attributed clearly and linked to the most authoritative available source. Anonymous sourcing should be used only when the information is important, the source has a legitimate need for protection, and the editorial team can assess the source’s credibility.
Editorial independence
Editorial conclusions are made independently of advertisers, sponsors, investors, and commercial partners. Writers and editors should disclose material conflicts of interest and should not accept conditions that prevent fair scrutiny of a subject.
Partner and sponsored content
Paid, supplied, or commercially supported articles must be labelled as partner or sponsored content. Commercial links are qualified so that they do not pass search-ranking credit. Sponsored work is handled separately from independent reporting and does not guarantee favourable coverage elsewhere on Techsoma Africa.
Corrections and updates
When a material error is confirmed, we correct it promptly and, where appropriate, add an explanatory correction or update note. Minor spelling, grammar, and formatting changes may be made without a note when they do not alter the meaning of the article. See our Corrections Policy for the reporting process.
Artificial intelligence and automation
Automation may assist with research organisation, transcription, formatting, or other production tasks, but publishable work must be reviewed by a responsible human editor. AI-generated claims, quotations, images, or summaries must not be treated as verified sources. Material synthetic media should be disclosed when its use could affect a reader’s understanding.
Opinion, analysis, and news
Commentary and partner contributions should be identified clearly. News reports should distinguish verified facts from analysis, forecasts, and the views of sources. Headlines and social posts should accurately represent the underlying article.
