Momentum Corporate has picked a new leader to drive its digital future. The company announced that Cypro Mailula will join as Chief Digital and Information Officer starting October 1, 2025.

Who is Cypro Mailula?

Mailula brings more than 20 years of tech experience to his new role. He has worked across different industries including IT consulting, banking, and telecoms.

Currently, he works at MTN as General Manager. There, he leads technology operations for consumer services, digital products, and fintech. Before MTN, he worked at Telkom as Executive for Digital Transformation. His job there focused on updating systems and strategic technology planning.

Why This Appointment Matters

This hire is part of Momentum Corporate‘s bigger plan to put digital technology at the center of everything they do. The company wants to improve how they serve customers and run their business.

“Cypro brings deep technical expertise and strong business insight. His leadership will be central to building the systems, tools and capabilities we need to serve our clients more effectively.” said Dumo Mbethe, CEO of Momentum Corporate.

Part of Bigger Strategy

The appointment fits into Momentum Corporate’s 2027 Impact Strategy. This plan aims to transform how the company operates and serves customers. Having someone with Mailula‘s background shows they are serious about digital change.

About Momentum Corporate

Momentum Corporate is part of the larger Momentum Group, a financial services company. The corporate division focuses on business clients and employee benefits.

Industry Context

Companies across South Africa are hiring digital leaders as they try to keep up with changing technology. The financial services sector especially needs to modernize to compete with new digital-first companies.

Mailula’s experience at both MTN and Telkom gives him insight into how large South African companies can successfully transform their technology systems.
