Nigeria is set to make history with Makemation, Africa’s first AI-themed feature film, premiering in Lagos on April 18, 2025. This massive production merges technology, storytelling, and culture, bringing artificial intelligence to the big screen in a way never seen before.

The film has already gained international attention with screenings at:

  • 2024 Global AI Summit in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
  • Kenya Innovation Week 2024 (Private Stakeholders’ Viewing)
  • Exclusive Screening at the U.S. Consul General’s Residence in Lagos

Following its Nigerian debut, Makemation will have an international rollout across Africa, the U.S., Europe, and the Middle East in May 2025.

A Unique Blend of AI, Nollywood, and Pop Culture

Makemation is a movement hat blends:

  • Nollywood’s biggest stars & emerging social media talents
  • Tech experts & public officials
  • AI-driven storytelling, humor, and drama

The film delivers a thought-provoking, emotional, and hilarious experience, showcasing how young Africans are leveraging AI to solve real-world challenges.

“Makemation is more than just a film; it’s a movement. We want to spark conversations, drive policy changes, and engage young minds, students, teachers, parents on the transformative power of AI and the technologies of the fourth industrial revolution. As Gen Zs and Gen Alphas shape the future, this is Nigeria and Africa’s moment to take the lead in the global digital revolution”, said Toyosi Akerele-Ogunsiji, the film’s creator and producer.
