PayMint, a financial technology company, has officially received the green light from the Central Bank of Egypt to launch the country’s first Meeza prepaid card. In collaboration with Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, Egypt (ADIB-Egypt), this landmark move marks a significant step in PayMint’s mission to enhance financial inclusion and advance Egypt’s cashless society vision.

This strategic partnership between PayMint and ADIB-Egypt aims to provide innovative digital solutions that cater to customers’ evolving needs while supporting the broader goal of reducing cash dependency in the country. The Meeza prepaid card will empower users to make daily financial transactions, such as cash withdrawals, purchases, and online shopping within Egypt. Customers can easily monitor their usage, check their available balance, and manage their cards through a dedicated mobile app.

Paving the Way for a Cashless Future

PayMint’s move aligns with the Central Bank of Egypt’s ongoing efforts to promote a cashless society. By offering accessible and secure digital financial services, PayMint is helping accelerate Egypt’s shift towards electronic transactions. The company’s latest initiative is an essential part of its strategy to expand its reach as a key player in the Egyptian FinTech.

Empowering Egypt’s Workforce with Meeza Prepaid Cards

The newly launched card is designed to serve a wide range of customers, including permanent and temporary workers, freelancers, and suppliers. With this card, users can receive payments, access financial services, and manage their finances more efficiently, regardless of their employment status. PayMint is also focusing on enhancing the experience of individuals and businesses, providing them with flexible and secure ways to manage.

A Strategic Partnership to Build the Future of Banking in Egypt

Speaking about the collaboration, Mohamed Ali, CEO and Managing Director of ADIB-Egypt, expressed his excitement:

“We are delighted to partner with PayMint, a leading FinTech company. This partnership reflects our commitment to adopting advanced technological solutions that align with Islamic principles to empower customers and enable them to manage their finances with ease and security. PayMint’s services align with the bank’s strategy and vision to expand its banking and digital solutions.”

Mohamed Rabie, Managing Director and Founder of PayMint, added:

“We are proud of our new partnership with ADIB-Egypt, a prominent player in Egypt’s banking sector and a leader in forming strategic alliances with FinTech companies. Through this partnership, we aim to provide an exceptional and innovative experience for our customers, complementing our range of services for individuals and businesses. The new card is targeted at individual customers, including permanent and temporary workers for companies, freelancers, and suppliers, enabling them to receive their financial dues and benefit from card services.”

Ensuring Top-Level Security and Customer Trust

Security remains a top priority for PayMint. The company has achieved the PCI-DSS certification, a global standard for payment card security. This certification guarantees that all customer data remains confidential and protected throughout every transaction.

Mohamed Yehia, Vice Chairman of PayMint, reinforced the company’s commitment:

“We are continuously diversifying our services to provide a unique experience with the highest levels of security and data confidentiality for our individual and corporate customers. Our PCI-DSS certification reinforces the trust we have built with our clients by offering fully secure services.”

A Bright Future for Digital Banking

With the increasing reliance on digital solutions for everyday transactions, PayMint and ADIB-Egypt are confident that the new prepaid Meeza card will become a popular choice among Egyptians.

Amr Sand, Head of Retail Banking at ADIB-Egypt, commented on the card’s promising market potential:

“We trust that this card will gain significant traction among customers, especially with the increasing reliance on digital and technological solutions for daily financial transactions.”

Sherif Mounir, Head of Cards at ADIB-Egypt’s Retail Banking Division, emphasized the importance of expanding Egypt’s FinTech presence:

“Through our partnership with PayMint, we aim to elevate the presence of FinTech in Egypt and expand the bank’s card portfolio, providing a more seamless and flexible banking experience for customers. The card supports daily transactions such as cash withdrawals, purchases, and online shopping within Egypt, with comprehensive control through the mobile application.”

Empowering Egypt’s Fin-tech Industry

Eng. Ahmed Nafea, CEO of MDP, shared his thoughts on the launch:

“We are proud to enable PayMint to launch its first prepaid cards, which enhance the flexibility of daily financial transactions within Egypt. This initiative is built on our advanced FinTech solutions, aligning with the nation’s direction to promote financial inclusion nationwide. This step not only enhances FinTech services but also empowers individuals to manage their finances more efficiently, contributing to their financial stability.”

Since its founding in 2019, PayMint has focused on delivering exceptional FinTech solutions to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Egypt. The company recently secured a seven-figure seed funding round from AUR Fintech Fund to fuel its expansion and further enhance Egypt’s digital financial ecosystem.

Moving Forward

PayMint’s launch of Egypt’s first Meeza prepaid card represents a crucial step toward a digital-first financial ecosystem. By partnering with ADIB-Egypt, the company is making it easier for Egyptians to manage their money, make purchases, and access financial services securely.

This milestone will have a lasting impact on Egypt’s transition to a cashless society, making digital financial solutions accessible and practical for a broad range of individuals and businesses.
