Founded in 2021 in Morocco by Imade Benelallam, Odin Demassieux, and Youcef Rahmani, ToumAI is transforming customer experience (CX) with AI-powered solutions designed for multilingual, multicultural, and emotionally complex interactions.

The startup recently secured $1 million in funding from Launch Africa Ventures, Madica, Orange Ventures, Digital Africa, GO Ventures, and business angel Bruno Akpaka, with support from BPI France. The investment will accelerate ToumAI’s expansion across Africa, Europe, and the Middle East, further developing its proprietary HolistiCX suite.

ToumAI’s AI-Driven CX Innovation

ToumAI’s HolistiCX suite is powered by Compound AI architecture, blending large open-source models with proprietary AI to deliver high-performance, low-computation solutions.

The platform enhances voice-driven applications, IVR systems, and churn detection, allowing businesses to:

✔ Unlock actionable customer insights from multilingual interactions.
✔ Improve engagement with AI-powered voice interfaces and automation.
✔ Scale customer service through SaaS-based APIs that integrate seamlessly across departments.

“We help businesses in multicultural and multilingual environments unlock actionable insights from customer interactions, combining advanced analytics with voice solutions,” said Demassieux.

“Our proprietary multilingual voice technologies, specifically tailored for African languages, enable enterprises to not only gain insights but also improve customer engagement through voice interfaces, IVR systems, and customer service automation.”

Bridging the Gap in Emerging Markets

ToumAI was founded to address a critical gap in CX solutions for multilingual and multicultural markets, particularly in Africa and emerging economies.

“Traditional solutions struggle with diverse languages and cultural nuances, particularly in regions with multiple dialects. Additionally, there is a lack of integrated solutions that combine customer insights and voice capabilities,” Demassieux explained.

ToumAI differentiates itself from large language model (LLM) providers by focusing on:

  • Underrepresented languages in Africa and beyond.
  • Localized AI solutions tailored for specific markets.
  • A hybrid AI approach, fine-tuned for real-world business applications.

Expanding Across Africa and Global Markets

Currently, ToumAI operates in Morocco, Senegal, and Malta, with expansion plans in Tunisia and a broader push into Africa, Europe, and the Middle East.

“These regions, with their complex linguistic and cultural landscapes, are key to our mission of delivering seamless customer experiences worldwide,” said Demassieux.

Strong Market Demand and Revenue Growth

ToumAI’s solutions have seen high adoption rates, with existing customers like Orange and Attijariwafa Bank requesting more integrations. The company operates on a SaaS-based model, charging businesses based on:
✔ Volume of customer interactions processed.
✔ Features and AI capabilities used.

The startup is also attracting large cloud contact centers, which are eager to integrate ToumAI’s APIs into their platforms.

“We’re in the early stages of commercialization, with significant progress in securing key partnerships and closing deals. Our first year will focus on scaling operations and expanding our customer base, targeting both SMEs and large enterprises,” said Demassieux.

The Future of AI-Powered Customer Experience

With its recent funding and growing demand, ToumAI is poised to redefine AI-driven customer engagement in emerging markets. The company aims to set new global standards for seamless, inclusive, and intelligent customer interactions.
