Airbnb is stepping beyond its roots as a home-rental platform. With its 2025 Summer Release, the company has become a one-stop platform for living, travelling, and experiencing more. The new update introduces two major features, Airbnb Services and Airbnb Experiences, integrated into an all-new app to transform users’ engagement with hospitality, leisure, and lifestyle.

On-Demand Local Services

With Airbnb Services, available in 260 cities, users can now schedule visits from personal chefs, massage therapists, personal trainers, hair stylists, and more. These aren’t random freelancers because they’re handpicked by Airbnb based on years of experience and strong customer ratings.

You don’t have to be on a trip to use them. These services are open to anyone. So if you want a deep-tissue massage in your living room or a chef to cook dinner for friends, you can now book that through Airbnb just as easily as you’d book a place to sleep.

Experiences That Go Beyond Tours

Airbnb Experiences isn’t entirely new. The company is adding thousands of new, hand-curated activities led by locals, creators, and even celebrities.

Some standout experiences include:

  • Exploring Incan spirituality with a mystic in Peru
  • Designing custom lowriders with the team at West Coast Customs
  • Learning to cook tacos with renowned Mexican chef Enrique Olvera
  • Spending time in-studio with Chance the Rapper to preview unreleased music

A Simpler, Smarter App

It now makes it easier to manage not just where you stay, but what you do while you’re there, and even before you get there. Features include:

  • A clear, all-in-one Trip Schedule with bookings and activities
  • An upgraded messaging tool that lets guests and hosts share photos and even service bookings directly in chat
  • A more personal profile page that keeps track of your stays and experiences
  • Tools for hosts to manage listings, payments, and calendars across homes, services, and experiences

Not Just for Guests

The update is just as significant for hosts and entrepreneurs. You might rent out a space, lead walking tours, or offer at-home haircuts. The platform now makes it easier to manage everything in one place. It’s a sign that Airbnb wants to grow its community far beyond property owners.

With this update, Airbnb is betting that people want more than just a place to stay. They want connection, convenience, and curated experiences.
