Condia Launches The Borderless Experience to Shape the Future of Cross-Border Payments in Africa

The Borderless Experience

Condia is launching The Borderless Experience, a new event bringing together founders, payment leaders, regulators, investors, and other industry operators to address the practical challenges of building and moving money across African markets.

The Borderless Experience

As more Africans build businesses, travel, and trade across borders, the ability to move money efficiently across African markets is becoming increasingly important. Yet, while conversations around financial inclusion and fintech have grown, businesses operating across borders still face practical challenges around payment infrastructure, market expansion, licensing and partnerships.

It is against this backdrop that Condia is launching The Borderless Experience, a flagship event focused on the future of cross-border payments, travel and commerce in Africa.

The event will take place on August 21, 2026, at Landmark Event Center in Lagos, bringing together founders, payment leaders, regulators, infrastructure providers, investors, travel operators and logistics companies.

According to Condia, the event is designed to move beyond broad industry conversations and create room for practical discussions around the realities of operating across multiple African markets.

Moving the cross-border payments conversation beyond fintech

For Condia, The Borderless Experience is not intended to be another fintech conference focused solely on payments companies.

The event will examine how financial infrastructure affects businesses across industries, particularly those involved in moving people, goods and services across Africa.

The agenda will explore areas including AI, stablecoins, payment infrastructure, travel payments and market expansion, while allowing operators to discuss the decisions and partnerships required to build businesses across multiple markets.

This approach reflects a broader reality of Africa’s digital economy: cross-border payments are not isolated to financial technology companies. Businesses in travel, logistics, commerce and other sectors also depend on reliable financial rails to operate across countries.

Creating room for practical conversations

Benjamin Dada, Founder of Condia, said the idea for The Borderless Experience came from recognising that one of the industry’s biggest gaps is access to practical knowledge.

“I realised I didn’t want to build a startup. I wanted to build a product that solves the problem,” Dada said.

He explained that entrepreneurs often have questions that go beyond product development, including how to secure licences, find banking partners and hire the right people.

“These are the conversations we want to create room for,” he said.

As a result, The Borderless Experience will feature operator-led discussions and debate-driven sessions focused on practical decisions, partnerships and infrastructure rather than broad industry commentary.

Condia expands its role in Africa’s fintech ecosystem

The launch of The Borderless Experience also builds on Condia’s existing involvement in Africa’s fintech ecosystem.

For nearly eight years, the company has documented and supported the sector through journalism, community building and industry engagement. The new event extends that work into a physical platform where industry operators can exchange knowledge, develop partnerships and address some of the challenges affecting cross-border payments across the continent.

The event comes at a time when African businesses are increasingly looking beyond their home markets. As companies expand across borders, access to payment infrastructure that can support different currencies, regulatory environments, and customer needs is becoming a critical part of that expansion.

The Borderless Experience aims to bring the people dealing with these challenges into the same room.

The Borderless Experience holds in Lagos on August 21

The Borderless Experience will hold on August 21, 2026, at Landmark Event Center, Lagos.

The event will bring together stakeholders from payments, fintech, travel, logistics, investment, regulation and infrastructure for conversations around building and operating across African markets.
