Senegalese logistics startup Logidoo has launched a new shipping service connecting Belgium, Morocco, and West Africa. The move helps European businesses reach African markets through a direct trade corridor.

The new route extends Logidoo’s existing Casablanca-Dakar service to Belgium. The company partnered with a Belgian logistics operator to create the connection. European manufacturers and online retailers can now ship products directly to West African customers.

“The Belgium-Casablanca-Dakar corridor reflects our ambition to establish Morocco as a regional logistics hub,” said Tamsir Ousmane Traoré, Logidoo’s CEO.

Growing African Logistics Market

The expansion comes as Africa’s logistics sector shows strong growth. The Middle East and Africa logistics market hit $967 billion in 2024. East Africa alone reached $23.9 billion, with growth expected to continue.

African logistics startups face funding challenges but continue attracting investment. The transport and logistics sector received $218 million across Africa in the first half of 2024.

How the Service Works

The Belgium-Morocco-West Africa route offers several features:

  • Package pickup and delivery network across Belgium
  • Regular shipments at competitive rates
  • Full service including storage, customs, final delivery, and cash collection

The service targets European brands wanting to enter African markets. Companies ship from Belgium to Morocco’s Casablanca hub, then distribute across West African countries.

Logidoo’s Background

Founded in 2020 by Tamsir Ousmane Traoré, Logidoo operates in eight African countries. The company has over 3,000 logistics providers, completed 100,000+ operations, and serves 600+ businesses.

Logidoo raised $1.55 million in 2024 to fund expansion. The startup also launched Afridoo, a platform helping African merchants sell online.

The company competes with other African logistics startups like Chargel, which raised $2.5 million, and Maad, which secured $3.2 million.

European-African Trade

EU-West Africa trade is expanding, especially in transportation and logistics services. However, shipping from Europe to Africa traditionally takes months and involves complex regulations.

Logidoo’s integrated approach handles the entire process from Belgium pickup to West Africa delivery. This includes customs clearance and local payment collection.

Morocco’s location makes it an attractive gateway between Europe and Africa. The country attracts European investment and serves as a vehicle manufacturing base for European exports.

Belgium and Morocco have established trade agreements, providing a foundation for the new shipping route.

The service could encourage other African logistics startups to create similar European connections, building more direct trade routes between the continents.
